She’s in the midst of a divorce from Qatari multi-millionaire husband Wissam Al Mana.
But it was a noticeably happy and smiling Janet Jackson who touched down in New York on Monday.
The singer was bringing baby Eissa home to America for the first time since his birth in London back in January.
The Escapade singer was 50 when she welcomed the now six-month-old, who is her first child.
And from her behavior as she strolled through the airport, it was clear Janet has taken to motherhood.
The doting mother carried her child in her arms, holding him close to her face as she reassured the inquisitive youngster with kisses and caressed him after the long transatlantic flight.
Dressed all in the black, Janet looked noticeably slimmed down.
She is currently in the midst of a divorce from Eissa’s father and previously said the divorce was ‘in God’s hands’.
Janet said: ‘I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second. Yes, I separated from my husband, we are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.’
And it was previously claimed Janet is leaning on her family following her split from Wissam.
An insider said: ‘As the babies of the family, they have an unbreakable bond. She trusts him more than anyone.
‘They are amicable. Janet hates mess just like Michael [Jackson] did and would have preferred to keep the split as quiet as possible … She couldn’t stay in the marriage.’
However, it is thought Janet still has a ‘strong friendship’ with Wissam despite their split.
The source added: ‘Janet really trusts Wissam and he trusts her. She and Wissam are working together to co-parent. They have a strong friendship. There is no fighting between them. They are very disciplined and the baby is already on a strict schedule.
‘It seems like she will stay in London for now while the baby is so young, but I can see her eventually moving back to the States. Janet is doing really well. She is just so happy to have her baby.’
Via a 10-episode docu-series titled Simply Janet, the 51-year old pop icon will reportedly give fans a glimpse into her life as she prepares to kick off her State of the World tour, all while juggling first-time mommy-hood and the emotional fall-out from her recent separation from third husband, Wissam Al Mana.
According to published reports, Simply Janet will feature a behind-the-scenes look into private recording sessions, costume and touring preparations, as well as Janet and Wissam co-parenting their six-month old son Eissa.
Janet is set to resume her tour in the U.S on September 7th, however, the documentary will reportedly cover preparations for the Asian and European leg of the trek, which is said to be getting a huge makeover.
Happy birthday Janet! We love you so much, May god bless you with many more. Enjoy your day!!
After perusing the children’s store, Jackson headed into a furniture store next door. Fortunately, she was able to take a look around in privacy as both shops locked their doors while she was inside. As one source said, Jackson “looked relaxed and happy.”
She seemed equally in good spirits just days ago when the triple threat took to the Internet to confirm the news of her split from her husband of five years, Wissam Al Mana.
“Yes, I separated from my husband,” she said into the camera during a YouTube video. “We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands.”
The new mom also gushed about her baby boy for the first time publicly. “I thank God for him you guys,” Janet shared. “He’s so healthy. He’s so beautiful, so loving, such a happy baby.”
While she raises her son, Jackson also has another big project on the calendar—her rescheduled world tour.
“I’m continuing my tour as I promised. I’m so excited you guys. I decided to change the name of the tour: The State of the World tour,” she told fans in the video.
“It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships and just love.”
The Unbreakable Tour is now The State of the World Tour.
Janet Jackson has rescheduled her tour dates and rebranded the trek, which was postponed last year when she became pregnant at age 49. Now she’s a mom, newly single and ready to bring her hits back to the stage.
Jackson will perform Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. It is her only Upstate New York stop.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through the KeyBank Center box office, by phone at 1-888-223-6000, and online at tickets.com. Prices are $125.95, $85.95, $55.95 and $39.95.
“I’m continuing my tour as I promised,” Jackson said Monday night.
The singer, who turns 51 this month, had previously been scheduled to perform in 2016 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester and at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) near Albany. It’s unclear if those shows will be rescheduled.
According to Rolling Stone, 56 dates have been set for the new tour despite postponing more than 70 shows last year. Jackson didn’t elaborate on the schedule, but explained why she rebranded her concerts.
“I decided to change the name of the tour: State of the World Tour,” Jackson said. “It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships, and just love.”
She also told fans about life with a newborn baby and confirmed that she has separated from Wissam Al Mana, her husband of five years. They plan to divorce.
“We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands,” she said in a short video.
